BitApp Wallet was a browser extension for Chrome that could store Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum assets. Because it was a browser-based tool, many users who relied on it years ago may have forgotten where their wallet data is stored on their hard drive.
If you are looking for these lost funds, the best way to find them is to scan your computer with an application called Treasure Hunter. You can also search for the wallet files manually, but this approach is far less reliable.
How to automatically scan your computer for BitApp Wallet files

The manual way
If you would rather not download any software, you can hunt through your computer’s local storage for specific browser
data yourself. Your BitApp Wallet data is stored inside Chromium database fragments. To locate them, you must search your
computer for a folder named fihkakfobkmkjojpchpfgcmhfjnmnfpi. Inside this folder, look for files that end with the
.ldb or .log extensions. These are the files that contain your wallet data.
Alternatively, you can search your computer and personal belongings for the seed phrase that was provided to you when you
first created the wallet. A seed phrase is comprised of 12 to 24 words. It looks something like this: spray little
main lottery monkey control opera trim coffee review survey crime. If you find this phrase, you can import it into the
BitApp Wallet software or another compatible wallet to gain back access to your funds.
Why the manual way often fails
Compared to an automatic scan, this method has several significant failings. It is incredibly time-consuming to scour every directory, and it is highly error-prone. It is very easy to miss your wallet among the multitude of files on a modern hard drive. Furthermore, you may have used a version of the wallet software that stored files differently from the most common versions. This method also fails if you tried to hide the wallet files by renaming them or moving them somewhere obscure. Finally, it doesn’t scale – you cannot easily verify many computers or old drives at once.
