Nonetheless, you can look through your computer, USB keys, or external drives for files whose name contains words like wallet, bitcoin, btc, private key, seed words, seed phrase, recovery words, recovery phrase, recovery seed, mnemonic words, mnemonic phrase, backup words, backup phrase, secret words or secret phrase. You might get lucky, but in most cases, the results will be irrelevant or incomplete. This is even more true if you took extra steps to hide your seed words, for instance by saving them in a document with a nondescript name.
In other words, the manual method is slow, unreliable, and very easy to mess up.
